The fifth International Turkology Research Symposium (UTAS), organized by Van Yuzuncu Yil University since 2019, was hosted by Muş Alparslan University this year. The 5th International Turkology Research Symposium, which is the largest scientific event held since the establishment of our university, reached the status of an important academic event in our region with a total of 207 papers, 47 of which were in foreign languages and 160 in Turkish.
UTAS, which is considered one of the leading academic events in the field of Turkology, has become an important organization closely followed by scientists not only from Türkiye but also from all over the Turkic world. This symposium, which covers a wide academic spectrum in many fields of social sciences such as Turkish Language and Literature, Turkish History, Art History and Turkish Culture, has brought together academicians who are experts in their fields from abroad and has prepared the ground for scientific discussions and international academic collaborations. The students of the History Research Society, whose academic advisors are Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mehmet Özalper, the Chairman of the Congress Organizing Committee and one of our department's lecturers, the Rector's Advisor, and Assoc.
