Assoc. Prof. Dr. Murat Alanoğlu of the Department of History Shared His Experiences in Iran

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Murat Alanoğlu, a faculty member of the Department of History at the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Muş Alparslan University, shared with students his experiences and observations from his three-year academic tenure in Iran.

The event, held at the Çay Bahane Café Event Hall located in the university bazaar on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at 4:00 p.m., drew considerable attention. Faculty members of the History Department, academics from various departments, students, as well as the Vice-Rector and the Rector’s Advisor, attended the talk.

During his speech, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Alanoğlu elaborated on the assignment that brought him to Iran, his experiences while searching for housing, and the academic studies he carried out there. He also shared his observations from different Iranian cities, emphasizing their distinctive historical and cultural characteristics.

Addressing topics such as Israel’s attack on Iran, the country’s economy, living conditions of the people, and the social impact of the clerical regime, Alanoğlu underlined that his years in Iran provided him with significant academic and personal insights.

The event, which attracted great interest from faculty members—particularly Assoc. Prof. Dr. Celal Öney, Head of the Department of History—also offered students the opportunity to ask questions about current developments and the social structure in Iran.

Held in a warm and engaging atmosphere, the event concluded with a Q&A session followed by a group photo.
