The seminar and digital photography exhibition titled “A Lifetime Devoted to Photography,” organized by the Muş Alparslan University History Research Community, was held on 13 May 2026 at the Ahmet Hamdi Tanpınar Lecture Hall (AS106) of Muş Alparslan University. The event, in which the Muş-based photographic artist Adem Sönmez took part as the speaker, was followed with interest by academics and students.
During the event, emphasis was placed on the historical development of the art of photography, its role in the formation of social memory, and the importance of visual documents in historical research. Within the scope of the program, comprehensive evaluations were presented to the participants to the effect that photography is not only an art form, but also an important historical source in making sense of the past.
Throughout the seminar, while the effects of the photographs taken by Adem Sönmez on individual and social memory were discussed, historical analyses were made through visuals belonging to different periods. The event, which attracted great interest from the students, came to an end following the question-and-answer session.
