Seminar: Crusade: Its Birth, Goals and First Invasion Attempts

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yegane Çağlayan, a faculty member of the History Department of Muş Alparslan University, organized a seminar on the history of the Crusades for the History Research Society.

In the seminar held by the History Research Society on 08.05.2024 at 13:00 in the As103 classroom of the Prof. Dr. Aziz Sancar classroom of Muş Alparslan University, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yegane Çağlayan provided information on how the invasion plan behind the Crusades came into being and how this idea was put into practice. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yegane Çağlayan, who made a visual presentation at the seminar, clarified important Latin concepts on this subject by referring to published sources on the history of the Crusades. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yegane Çağlayan, especially focusing on the number of Muslims killed in Jerusalem, concluded her seminar by touching on the unknown aspect of the Crusades, the occupation movements of the Georgian Kingdom during the campaigns. At the end of the seminar, Muş Alparslan University History Department Head Assoc. Prof. Dr. Celal Öney presented Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yegane Çağlayan with a Certificate of Appreciation to express his good wishes.
