The 109th Anniversary of the Çanakkale Victory and Martyrs was commemorated at the conference where Assoc. Prof. Dr. Celal Öney, a faculty member of the History Department of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences at Muş Alparslan University, made a presentation.
The conference was organized by the History Research Society, a student society at Muş Alparslan University. The conference, attended by the society president Veysel Turgut and the society coordinator Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yegane Çağlayan, began with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yegane Çağlayan's presentation, followed by a minute of silence in memory of the Çanakkale Martyrs, and the singing of the National Anthem.
In his speech, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Celal Öney focused on the reasons that led to the First World War in order to understand the Çanakkale front war, and listed the reasons that pushed the important and powerful states of Europe, in particular, to the process of forming a bloc before the war. During this process, Öney, who clarified the reasons why Germany was involved in the Ottoman Empire's Allied Powers, discussed the situation the Ottoman Empire was in before the war and focused on how the war was entered on Germany's side. Öney, who focused on the fronts where the Ottoman soldiers fought, then touched on how the Çanakkale front was opened and how the naval and land battles took place on this front, and continued his presentation by touching on the results of the Çannakkale front war. Finally, Öney concluded his conference by touching on the effects of this front war on the Turkish world, the Islamic world and world history. Immediately after the conference, Muş Alparslan University Vice President Prof. Dr. Yaşar Karadağ presented Assoc. Prof. Dr. Celal Öney with a Certificate of Appreciation and expressed his goodwill and wishes, and concluded the event.
